Rules. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation follows the federal hazardous waste TSDF requirements. However, the state also has a few of its own requirements for hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs), including those regarding annual reports, contingency plans, closure and post-closure standards, comanagement of other materials, financial responsibility, permits and fees, operating record, and pollution prevention.

Administration and enforcement. TDEC's Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste Management administers and enforces the TSDF requirements in Tennessee.
