Family leave. Effective January 1, 2014, state law requires private employers to provide bereavement leave under the Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA). The OFLA covers employers with 25 or more employees.
Under the amended OFLA, bereavement leave is a qualifying reason for OFLA leave, allowing eligible employees to take up to 2 weeks of family leave for the death of a family member.
