Texas Overtime: What you need to know

Texas has no state overtime requirements. Consequently, all overtime questions are governed by the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Every employer with a worker who is covered by the FLSA must post notices outlining the federal overtime regulations. The notices must be posted conspicuously and in enough places so that employees can see them as they enter and exit the workplace. Employers may obtain these posters from their nearest U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division:
