The District of Columbia Office of Human Rights (OHR) enforces the District of Columbia Human Rights Act, the District of Columbia Family and Medical Leave Act, the District of Columbia Parental Leave Act, and the District of Columbia Language Access Act. The OHR was established to eradicate discrimination, increase equal opportunity, and protect human rights for persons who live, work, or visit in the District of Columbia. In addition to enforcing civil rights laws and investigating complaints, the OHR conducts educational campaigns and initiatives to educate the public about civil and human rights and provides various free equal employment opportunity (EEO)-related training sessions to D.C. government agencies and private sector entities within the District of Columbia.
