Commuting programs for private employers. Several Alabama organizations partner with regional planning commissions and chambers of commerce to provide the CommuteSmart Services Program for carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, and bicycling/walking services in the Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, and Mobile/Baldwin metropolitan areas. State workers. The state Personnel Department's Commute with Company program offers carpool and vanpool incentives and matching programs.
