North Dakota Notices (Posting): What you need to know

North Dakota requires that employers post a number of notices informing workers of their rights and obligations under various employment laws. The notices must be placed conspicuously enough to be seen easily by employees as they enter or exit the workplace.

Child labor. Employers of minors must post a notice of weekly work hours, beginning and quitting hours, and mealtimes. Minors may be employed only during the hours stated in the notice (ND Cent. Code Sec. 34-07-15).
Wage and hour. All employers must post a notice summarizing the provisions of the North Dakota Wage and Hour Act (ND Cent. Code Sec. 34-06-04.
Workers' compensation. Employers must post conspicuously and in sufficient numbers copies of a certificate of premium payment showing compliance with the workers' compensation law. The toll-free telephone number used to report unsafe working conditions and actual or suspected workers' compensation fraud must also be included (ND Cent. Code Sec. 65-04-04).
Unemployment compensation. Employers must post notices providing employees with information about their benefit rights, claim application procedures, and other matters under the state's unemployment insurance law. The required poster is available free from the state Bureau of Unemployment Compensation (ND Cent. Code Sec. 52-06-35).
