Ohio Notices (Posting): What you need to know

Ohio requires that employers post a number of notices informing workers of their rights and obligations under various employment laws.
The notices must be placed conspicuously enough to be seen easily by employees as they enter or exit the workplace.

Overview. Detailed discussion is provided below on selected, broadly applicable state employment poster and notice requirements.
Please note that additional poster and notice requirements and best practices may apply, particularly in industrial workplaces, healthcare and educational facilities, and other workplaces with unique or specific needs.
Minimum wage/wage and hour laws. All employers covered by the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and state and political subdivisions must post the notice State of Ohio Minimum Wage, which summarizes minimum wage rates, overtime rates, handicapped rates, persons exempt from the minimum wage rates, and permanent records the employer must keep (OH Rev. Code Sec. 4111.09).
Employers must also provide each newly hired employee with the employer's name, address, telephone number, and other contact information.
Employees must also be given updates if any of this information changes (OH Rev. Code Sec. 4111.14).
