Colorado Telephones: What you need to know

Drivers under age 18 and novice drivers of any age with instructional permits are prohibited from using cell phones while driving in nonemergency situations (CO Rev. Stat. Sec. 42-4-239).

All drivers are prohibited from texting or doing any data entry into electronic devices while driving (CO Rev. Stat. Sec. 42-4-239).
A driver may not operate a motor vehicle with a video screen visible to the driver that displays visual entertainment. Video screens displaying navigational or safety information are not prohibited (CO Rev. Stat. Sec. 42-4-201(3)).
