Reverse 911. Residents with land-line telephones are automatically registered to receive emergency information via reverse 911 automated calls.
Alert DC. The Alert DC warning system provides emergency and crisis information via text to e-mails, cell phones, pages, and BlackBerry® and wireless PDA devices. To sign up, go to https://textalert.ema.dc.gov.
Emergency Alert System. The District still maintains the Emergency Alert System of local radio and television outlets to dispense information to citizens.
HSEMA maintains an evacuation Web center as part of Be Ready DC at http://dcatlas.dcgis.dc.gov.
Evacuations will be announced via the notification channels listed above.
