Several state agencies, including the Kentucky Department of Homeland Security, Community Crisis Response Board, Kentucky Army and Air National Guard; KYEM; Kentucky Transportation Cabinet; Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet; State Fire Commission; local law enforcement emergency management agencies, and selected private industries, participate in periodic statewide preparedness drills as charged by the governor.
EAS. Kentucky participates in the federal Emergency Alert System (EAS), which sends warnings and information through broadcast radio and televisions stations and cable systems. Kentucky also has NOAA weather radio stations.
