Kansas First Aid: What you need to know

Public sector employers (state and local government offices and operations) in Kansas are governed by workplace safety and health abatement orders issued by the Kansas Department of Human Services. Abatement orders usually cite Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Additional information on private sector workplace first-aid requirements is available.
Any healthcare provider (including anyone licensed to practice any branch of the healing arts, as well as anyone who is certified and has successfully completed a course in first aid from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, the Bureau of Mines, or the National Safety Council) who in good faith renders emergency care or assistance at the scene of an emergency or accident is not liable for civil damages for acts or omissions unless they result from gross negligence or willful or wanton acts or omissions (KS Stat. Sec. 65-2891).
