Vermont First Aid: What you need to know

The level of first-aid services maintained will depend on the hazards normally present at the worksite. Both the law and good common sense require at least a basic level of readiness. Vermont's own state health and safety code, applicable to both private and public sector workplaces, has adopted the first-aid standards of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act) (VTStat. Any person who, acting in good faith, renders emergency care by the use of an automated external defibrillator will not be held liable for civil damages for his or her acts or omissions unless those acts were grossly negligent or willful and wanton (VTStat. Tit. 18 Ch. 17 Sec. 907).
