Wyoming Medical Treatment: What you need to know

There are no state laws requiring employers to have a dispensary at the worksite or to keep a doctor or nurse on call to treat workplace injuries. However, Wyoming's own state safety and health code has adopted the occupational safety standards set by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act). The OSH Act requires every employer to ensure that medical personnel are readily available for advice and consultation and that when an infirmary, clinic, or hospital is not within close proximity to the workplace, there is an individual (or individuals) who is adequately trained to administer first aid. Employers are responsible for making decisions about the details of emergency medical care in their workplaces, depending upon the size, the kinds of hazards present, the history of accidents, and the costs of various options (29 CFR 1910.151).

Under Wyoming's workers' compensation laws, employers must provide whatever treatment is necessary for workers injured on the job, including medical, surgical, nursing, and hospital services. Workers' compensation pays the costs of treatment without limitation.
Some states have laws that require private employers to grant employees time off for serious illness, the birth or adoption of a child, or to care for a family member with a serious illness, but Wyoming does not have such a law.
