Connecticut Telecommuting: What you need to know

State law allows employees of state agencies and the executive and legislative branches of state government to participate in telecommuting or at-home work assignments if appropriate under collective bargaining agreements as determined by the commissioner of Administrative Services, who will also manage the telecommuting program. A telecommuting agreement for each participating employee must be filed with the Department of Administrative Services. Agreements are for six months and may be extended. Disclosure of wage range. Effective October 1, 2021, employers are required to provide the wage range for a position when a job applicant requests it or before the applicant is made an offer of compensation, whichever occurs earlier (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 31-40z). Employers must provide an employee with the wage range for the employee’s position when the employee is hired, there is a change in the employee’s position with the employer, or the employee requests it. The law defines “wage range” as the range of wages an employer anticipates relying on when setting wages for a position.
