Utah Telecommuting: What you need to know

Executive Order 2021-03 established “A New Workplace” to modernize the state workforce and classify employees based on whether they can or cannot telework. With the goals of improving air quality, enhancing use of real estate, increasing rural jobs and productivity, and enhancing talent retention and recruitment, the program provides extensive resources for remote workers at dhrm.utah.gov.
State employees must work from home on days when the Utah Division of Air Quality calls for mandatory action to ease air pollution (Utah Code Ann.§ 67–19–46).
