Wyoming First Aid: What you need to know

The level of first-aid services maintained will depend on the hazards normally present at the worksite. Both the law and good common sense require at least a basic level of readiness. Wyoming has its own Occupational Safety and Health Act. The Act's first-aid standards are identical to those of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act). Therefore, the federal OSH Act's standards govern workplace health and safety in the public and private sector. There is a detailed discussion of workplace first-aid requirements. Any person, including licensed physicians and surgeons, who in good faith provides emergency care or assistance without compensation at the place of an emergency or accident, is not liable for any civil damages for acts they may have performed (or omitted) in providing such emergency care. This immunity does not apply to acts or omissions constituting gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct (WY Stat. Sec. 1-1-120).
