The state has adopted the federal safety and health rules for powered industrial trucks, including forklifts, in general industry workplaces by reference (COMAR 09.12.31).
The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation/Occupational Safety and Health administers and enforces workplace safety and health requirements in private and public sector workplaces.
