Iowa has adopted the federal Occupational Safety and Health Standard in IAC 875-10.20(88) for general industry and IAC 875-10.12(88) for construction. Employers in Iowa are subject to state machine guarding requirements that are identical to the federal rules.
The Iowa Occupational Safety and Heath Administration (IOSHA) administers and enforces workplace safety rules in the state.
