Maryland has adopted by reference the federal machine guarding standard in COMAR 09.12.31. Maryland employers are subject to requirements that are identical to the federal rules.
The MOSH Act covers every Maryland employer in a business, trade, commercial, or industrial activity that has one or more employees, including state and local governments.
Maryland's state plan is administered by the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH).
