Indiana has adopted the federal safety and health rules for material handling in general industry workplaces by reference (620 IAC 1-1-1). Material-handling activities include the use of hoisting equipment (e.g., cranes, derricks, helicopters, and slings) and powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts).
The Indiana Department of Labor/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (IOSHA) administers and enforces workplace safety and health requirements in private and public sector workplaces.
