Maryland has adopted workplace safety rules for personnel platforms suspended from cranes, derricks, and hoists that are absent from the federal rules (COMAR 09.12.38.01 to 09.12.38.13). The state has adopted the federal material handling rules by reference (COMAR 09.12.31.00).
Maryland's state plan is administered by the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH).
