Minnesota has adopted the federal workplace safety and health rules for material handling in general industry by reference (MR 5205.0010), and has adopted several rules for powered industrial trucks (forklifts), cranes, derricks, and hoists that are stricter than federal standards (MR 5205.0670, and MR 5205.1200 to 5205.1220).
See the state Cranes, Derricks, and Slings topic for detailed information.
See the Forklifts topic for more information about forklift requirements.
The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (MDLI) administers and enforces workplace safety and health rules in the state.
