Nevada has adopted the federal workplace safety and health rules for material handling in general industry by reference (NRS 618.295). Its own rules for cranes are stricter than federal standards.
See the state Crane, Derrick, and Hoist topic for detailed information.
The Nevada Division of Industrial Relations (DIR), Department of Business and Industry, administers the state plan. Enforcement is provided by the Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
