Wyoming has adopted the federal standard for asbestos exposure in general industry (brake and clutch repair, custodial work, and the manufacture of asbestos-containing products (Emp. 1910.1001)). The state has adopted the federal standards for protecting the safety and health of employees during asbestos abatement activities (alteration, repair, demolition, renovation, and removal) by reference (Emp. 1926.1101 and Env. 3-8). The state does not have an accreditation program for asbestos abatement personnel.
State requirements must be at least as strict as federal requirements; otherwise, the federal rules apply.
