· Rules. The federal OSH Act governs workplace safety and health in the private sector. There is no federal or state workplace safety standard for public sector employers that are not federal agencies.

Florida has adopted by reference the federal worker protection standard for pesticide applicators and handlers. · Administration and enforcement. OSHA administers and enforces workplace safety and health standards for private sector employers in Florida. There are no workplace safety regulatory requirements for nonfederal public sector employers. FDACS administers and enforces the pesticide handler and applicator hazard communication standards.
