· Rules. Nevada has adopted the federal Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) by reference for both private (private businesses and nonprofit organizations) and public (state and local government offices and operations) sector employers. Nevada has an additional notification requirement.
· Administration and enforcement. DIR administers and enforces the HCS requirements in Nevada.
NOTIFICATION OF EXPOSURE
Employers in Nevada are required to promptly notify any employee who has been or is being exposed to toxic materials or harmful physical agents in concentrations or at levels which exceed applicable standards. In addition, the employee(s) must be informed of any corrective action.
