• Rules.Connecticut has a federally approved occupational safety and health regulatory program for public sector (state and municipal government offices and operations) employers only. Private sector (private businesses and nonprofit organizations) employers are regulated by the federal OSH Act.
• Administration and enforcement. The CT OSH Act has adopted the standards of the federal OSH Act in their entirety, but has included maximum penalty limits for violations in public sector workplaces that are, in some cases, less strict than federal penalties.
