• Rules. Utah is a "state plan" state; that is, it has its own workplace safety plan approved by federal OSHA. Penalties for violations of standards are substantially similar to federal penalties, with additional minimum penalties for violations deemed serious and willful violations.
• Administration and enforcement. UOSH has full authority to administer and enforce the state's regulations and to conduct workplace inspections. UDOT administers and enforces the hazardous materials motor carrier regulations.
