State government departments and agencies must establish safety and health committees as part of workplace safety and workers’ compensation risk management and loss control.

The state requirements for safety and health committees in state government departments of agencies are administered by the Maryland State Employee Risk Management Administration.

Each state government department or agency must establish safety and health committees to review agencies’ safety and health safety programs, review injury trends, and advise the agency leadership on corrective measures needed.
